Señora Wojciechowski
¡Hola! Me llamo Señora Wojciechowski. Welcome to Spanish! I am so excited to be your child's Elementary World Language Teacher this year!
This year, I am teaching at the buildings listed below on the following days:
Ramtown School- Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
(732) 751-2493 ext. 4094
Greenville School- Tuesdays and Thursdays (732) 202-1745 ext. 5116
Your child's experience in the elementary world language classroom will most likely be quite different than what many of us had experienced when we studied languages at the middle and/or high school levels. At this young age, a greater emphasis is placed on speaking and listening with a limited exposure to reading and writing. This mimics the process by which children acquired their first language when they were very little.
In many of my lessons, I utilize various aspects of "The Natural Approach" to second-language acquisition, which promotes a low-stress environment in which all students understand that mistakes are a welcome part of the learning process. It also puts an emphasis on using the language to communicate rather than focusing on drills and straight memorization of grammar rules and vocabulary. Both of these aspects of The Natural Approach enable my students to become consistently and actively engaged in their world language classes and thus helps to maximize their success.
In addition, I try make cross-curricular connections to many other subject areas as often as possible. This helps to pre-teach, support and/or reinforce lessons that the students learn in those subject areas, and it gives them the opportunity to see the many ways in which all subject areas are interconnected to one another.
If you ever have any questions or comments about anything, please do feel free to reach me at the above extentions, or through the district's email.
¡Muchísimas gracias!
Señora Wojciechowski
